COMPOSITION AND GOVERNING STRUCTURE

The Governing Council and Administrative Leadership of Southgate University is composed of erudite scholars in the field of e-commerce, natural and management sciences, engineering technology and law. This group of scholars are drawn from different campus based universities across the globe and have maintained teaching and research positions spanning over two decades.

The initiation of administrative policy directions of the University is the primary function of the Governing Council. The administrative experience of the Governing Council members is a huge resource base for the operation of the University.
Importantly, the University is also supported by an active management team that guarantee the discharge of administrative and operational policies of the Governing Council. This management team is headed by the University’s Vice President, who is also a member of the Governing Council and oversee the daily activities of the University and makes reports to the Council. All other professors, industry specialists, and senior academics of the University are coordinated by the Vice President in her capacity as the Head of the University Management Team.

ACADEMIC CONTENT AND QUALITY ASSURANCE

The University maintains standard academic contents in all of our programs comparable to those of any other modern university. The academic contents of all the courses offered by our University are designed in line with best industry requirements, practices and expectations. Hence, the University shall continue to improve on the active relationship it has built with key industry specialists whose inputs and regular updates of modern practices enhances the university’s ability to maintain relevant and appropriate teaching and learning methods that are necessary to the sustenance of cutting edge learning materials and environments.

The University maintains a standard academic content and quality assurance reviews that regularly considers trending issues in the development of course contents. In addition to participation of industry specialists in our course content development, key issues in industry applications of theoretical considerations requires industry based case studies and field data analysis. This hands-on model implies that, mature candidates taking our programs can easily relate with this industry supported model of learning.

INFRASTRUCTURE AND LEARNING PORTALS

As an online based learning environment, the University in addition to the shipment of hard copies of learning materials also employs the use of e-books, manuals, journals, lecture videos, and many other platforms that have proved very effective. The University’s policy of leading the global eLearning drive shall continue to serve as the basis for advancement in our practices.

The University also employs e-library and virtual learning environments where students interface with each other and maintain close contact with their faculty in their respective areas of learning. Other close contact communication technologies such as Skype, Snapchat, Instagram, and Twitter are channels deployed by the University as learning platforms for its global community of scholars and students.
