This international perspective of the University is the reason behind the submission of its resources and academic programs to renowned international accreditation agencies, such as the International Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (QAHE, USA) and the International Academic and Management Association (IAMA, India) for content evaluation.

 

On the basis of this international accreditation and more in processing, and in addition to membership renowned organizations, the University is fully positioned to design and execute its academic programs following international best practices in higher education quality delivery. The validation and dual degree awards agreements with its partner universities in Europe is a testimony to the University’s drive for quality education service delivery.

 

The University has received full institutional accreditation from International Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (QAHE), Delaware, USA. QAHE is an institutional member of Board of Quality Standards (BQS), Cyprus, EU. As a foremost quality assurance evaluator, BQS is an integral member of the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE) in Barcelona, Spain; the highest network of educational quality assurance organizations in the world with a membership of over 300 public and private educational institutions in over 140 countries. The two accrediting organizations in the University’s country of registration and CHEA in the United States, among others, are institutional members of INQAAHE. In view of this accreditation, Southgate University is listed in BQS-recognized and accredited universities under QAHE.

Southgate University has been institutionally accredited by QAHE after a rigorous process of Academic Quality Evaluation. Success at this exercise is a true testimony of the University’s compliance with international best practices in higher education delivery and a significant commitment to its internal policy of high-quality educational service delivery.

 

QAHE performs academic evaluations for Universities and other tertiary institutions across the world. This accreditation is also for the purposes of internationalization of the educational service delivery of Southgate University within the context of its mandates. Thus, the institutional and program-based accreditation granted to Southgate University by QAHE enables the University to maintain its focus on international standards of education quality. This accreditation also enhances Southgate University’s participation in capacity-building measures, such as conferences, seminars, etc., organized by QAHE and its affiliate organizations such as BQS and INQAAHE.

 

It should be noted that the international accreditation of Southgate University programs by QAHE is partly based on the evaluation of the inputs of our academic partners, established public universities in Europe. QAHE assessed the quality of the University’s blended learning model and affirmed that it is consistent with international best practices and also supports the University policy of commencing online and completing on the campus of our academic partners.

International Academic and Management Association

IAMA Accreditation Certificate

International Academic and Management Association is a flagship organization for the internationalization of the academic contents and programmes of member universities and other higher education institutions (HEI). IAMA is an institutional partner of many organizations of the United Nations. The organizations include, UNICEF, UNHCR, WFP, WHO, UNFPA, etc., In addition, IAMA is an institutional member of the International Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (IAQAHE) and Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges and Universities (ASIC). IAMA core mandates include

  • Design of learning curriculum for higher education institutions
  • Documentation and processing of special research grants and scholarships for students of member institutions
  • Creation and establishment of research incubation centers of excellence for member institutions
  • Assisting institutions with the digital transformation of education by means of deployment of new-age technologies in academic delivery including learning management system (LMS) and metaverse (AR/VR)
  • Assisting member institutions with the recruitment of qualified students for admission purposes, etc.

International Recognition

As a global online education provider, Southgate University has international accreditation for its programs and is also supported by the resources of its academic-validating partner universities in Europe. This validation of its program contents by international educational quality assurance organizations is in addition to its membership of global academic and research institutions. These resources enable the University to offer practice diploma and degree programs to a global audience of advanced knowledge seekers. On the basis of the University’s international accreditation, under QAHE (institutional member of BQS, INQAAHE, WAC, UNESCO, etc.), our qualifications are internationally recognized for purposes of employment, professional memberships, and further studies.

 

 

In view of the foregoing, it should be noted that accreditation implies that an institution has committed itself to meeting or surpassing a specific education delivery standard that supports students during learning at the institution and after they have graduated from the institution. This means that accreditation is an institution’s commitment and guarantees that the knowledge and skills it will provide and impart to students are sufficient to prepare them for future work challenges. In this regard, accreditation is a positive testimony to the quality of learning in the institution. It is also evidence of its capacity to deliver modern and viable solutions to identified human problems in addition to the capability and competence of its trainers or instructors. The course contents of the university’s programs support these ideals and also deal with appropriate learning curriculum that meets or surpass industry standards or needs. These course contents are designed to respond to current and future user communities and wider industry needs.

National Accreditation

The University is currently complying with the provisions of the Namibia Higher Education Act, 2003, and its incidental Regulation in order to achieve its national accreditation, pursuant to Namibia Ministry of Higher Education requirements as stipulated in the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) and the Namibia Qualification Authority (NQA) criteria.
