Yes. See this page for Southgate University accreditation information.

Accreditation of any University’s program(s) is a quality assessment and assurance exercise where a recognized accrediting agency (either public or private) is invited to the facilities and learning support resources of the University on the basis of the university’s self-study documentation (responded to in line with the accrediting agency requirements and benchmarks) and made available to the accrediting agency to indicate that all or most of their documentations and academic practices are genuinely what they said it is. Thus, accreditation of legally established educational entities is paramount in confidence building for the students, funding partners, employers, professional organizations, and national governments.

It should be noted that before accreditation documentation and visit of the accreditation agencies, a new private university must have been in operation, discharging all functions incidental to their registration (which was granted by a national government). This is because accreditors must have the bases for assessment of all submitted documents and key indicators of quality in order to assure themselves of significant compliance. That means there is nothing to accredit when there is nothing to show. Consequently, universities must be in full academic operations before presenting themselves for program accreditations and assessors of the new university’s qualifications and awards are enjoined to give equitable good faith credit to such endeavors.

Southgate University's degree top-up program works like a remedial program where a student’s previous qualification is assessed on the basis of our admission guidelines alongside our list of courses for that degree program. Courses for which the individual student had lower grades or was not taken are indicated for the student to study, or take classes and qualifying tests and examinations. Prospective students who could not complete their programs in their previous schools but dropped out and now want to continue with Southgate University, can apply for transcripts of already completed studies from their previous institutions and send same to admissions@southgateuniversity.us for evaluation and placement.

The same policy goes for certificate conversion where a student who has an HND from a recognized Polytechnic or similar institution seeks to convert his certificate to a Bachelor's degree in the same field of study. Such students can apply to the Director of Admissions and upload the hard copy of the application with a copy of the HND certificate and transcript from their previous school to admissions@southgate university.us.

Upon receipt of the application, the Evaluation Unit will compare the courses with our standards and those of our partner institutions to determine the additional courses that the student will take. However, all such certificates and transcripts shall be verified from the named institutions before conversion admissions can be extended.

Southgate University qualifications are only granted after a rigorous period of study and fulfillment of all required academic processes as applicable in any internationally recognized university. As a university that is established and accredited on the basis of its compliance with international best practices, our qualifications are recognized by employers, other institutions of higher learning, national governments, and professional bodies.

However, no institution has control over how its graduates or their qualifications are treated in any part of the world. In this regard, before enrollment, students who are seeking academic loans and study grants from their respective countries are required to consult their local authorities for advice, the same is applicable to students seeking professional registrations in their home countries.

Yes. Upon award of a degree from Southgate University, a student must have completed all required academic processes. The student’s transcript is further processed by a US Department of Education-approved agency for foreign qualifications evaluation.

This process enables our students to obtain the equivalency of US universities awarded degrees, in case they plan to work or pursue further education in the United States or its territories.

Southgate University's membership in international organizations has great advantages for its students in terms of the internationalization of their programs of study and the knowledge and qualifications they have obtained. The membership also enhances international work mobility for graduates of member institutions.

It is important to note that membership of these organizations accords Southgate University students an international gateway to so many benefits and resources; these include facilitation of study credit transfer to other universities, inter-university transfer of studies and programs, collaborations with other universities for students exchange programs, facilitation of member institution students to attend and make presentations at international seminars and conferences, after graduation international job placements, etc.
